Israel Museum was founded in 1965. It is situated on a hill in the Givat Ram neighborhood of Jerusalem. It houses encyclopedic collections, including works dating from prehistory to the present day. The museum includes some 500,000 archeological, anthropological and art exhibits. Israel Museum features the most extensive holdings of biblical and Holy Land archaeology in the world. On the grounds of the museum stands the  Shrine of the Book with its main attraction,  the Dead Sea Scrolls.
